"Dear Kerry-Marie and Lewis,
I have always followed a simple set of rules when trying to decide to choose a builder. These are:
Are they well established with a proven track record of quality builds completed
Can they demonstrate/show some of the quality of work completed
Is the Builder someone you can work with ?
Has the Builder a clear pricing process and transparent method for allowing for the inevitable building modifications and changes to the costs.
Is the price broadly in range with your expectations and compared to the alternative quotes. NB. This is by the far the least of the requirements. Quality and confidence should be rated well above pricing considerations for a complex building task and indeed a premium for these is always worth paying for. Remember the old adage “select only for cost now and you will forever regret poor quality. “
We asked LPS Builders to build out a kitchen/Utility room extension for us at the end of 2013 and work commenced in mid-January 2014 and completed by March 2014. “On Time” and “On Budget” are rare events in the building world, but LPS Builders managed both and that included a number of on-site changes required which I regard as an exceptional performance ! We also much appreciated the calibre of Lewis’ great team of Trades people, who were a pleasure to have working on site.
I think one of the distinguishing features of LPS Builders is of course Lewis himself ! His direct style of getting to the heart of a problem and never appearing to be fazed by any issues/ problems that always arise was outstanding. His priority was always “Were we going to be happy with the outcome” which made him a pleasure to work with.
In summary, the best testament to any piece of work one has done is, would we ask LPS Builders to do any more work in the future. And the answer to that is an unequivocal YES! And the summary has to be Great Work, Great People !
Kindest regards"
